A Developmental Mentor Coach Training Experience

In April 2026 ICF announced the new Mentor Coach Specialization which will come into effect in April 2027. As a provider of Mentor Coaching since 2007, we are proud to start offering training for the MCS starting in June 2026. This will be of interest for current Mentor Coaches, who have supported five mentor coaching clients for ICF credentialing in the last 3 years.
Starting June 2026 we are offering the Prior Learning Pathway, 10 hour training, in several program offerings (3 to 7 sessions).
Aligned with the emerging ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies and the Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) Prior Learning Credit pathway, this interactive live online program explores:
- developmental mentor coaching,
- reflective practice,
- formative appraisal,
- facilitation of client skill development,
- calibration,
- group mentor coaching dynamics,
- and mentor coach practicum.

1. August Intensive - Thursday August 13 (830- 430pm ET) and Friday August 14 8 - 10 am ET
2. Accelerated September 2026 Program with 2 calls per week (Mondays and Thursdays 930 - 11 am ET) starting September 8th (September 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29th)

3. Wednesdays 10 - 12 noon ET for 5 weeks starting September 23 - October 21, 2026

What Makes This Different?
We have been offering mentor coaching services to external and internal coaches since 2007, and were part of the validation of mentor coaching skills over the last few years. Since 2007 Potentials Realized founder Jennifer Britton has mentored hundreds of ACC and PCC candidates, as well as CPCC candidates. We are pleased to now support other mentor coaches with their own development.
We bring a specialization in coaching group and team coaches, and have been offering ICF-CCE training since 2006.

What to Expect - Time Required
You will also need to complete additional training at the level at which you want to be able to mentor coach - this will include the ACC BARS Training or the PCC Markers. Each of these is approximately 4 hours in length. You will want to also estimate about 30 minutes per call.
