Facilitation Skills Intensive

This program is designed for professionals interested in acquiring group facilitation skills and gaining creative techniques for working with teams and groups. If you are a manager, coach, leader, trainer who is looking to enhance create more powerful learning experiences through enhanced facilitation skills, this program is for you.   This is a "train the trainer" program geared to help professionals develop and practice group facilitation skills. Both new and group facilitators with some experience will benefit from this program which includes practice and feedback.

During this intensive two day program you will learn:

• The skills, competencies and best practices of successful facilitators,
• How your skills compare through a Facilitator Self-Assessment,
• How to identify participant learning styles and preferences,
and implement facilitation techniques to accommodate them
• How to be sensitive to different phases of group formation and how to adapt your facilitation style to meet the different needs,
• How to create a positive climate for learning, • Specific techniques on how to deal with difficult participants,
• Specific techniques to conduct and debrief learning activities,
• How to manage the logistics and finer details of a learning event (in-person or virtually/by phone) You will also:

  • Receive opportunities for practice and feedback throughout the program
  • Prepare a personal Action Plan including strategies to further practice your new facilitation skills in your work.

Registration includes:  

A manual which includes:
  • a comprehensive resource guide of web-based and printed material
  • selected facilitation exercises and tools you can implement into your next team and facilitation work
The program includes 15 hours of instruction plus a group follow-up call one month after the in-person intensive to check in on your facilitation skills practice.

Cost: $950 Canadian plus HST for public programs.

IF you are more interested in virtual facilitation, please contact us regarding the Virtual Facilitation Essentials program. This program is offered 4-6 times a year virtually for professionals who are eager to enhance their skills and practice in virtual facilitation, leading programming via WebEx OR Zoom, or other virtual platforms.
 
Participants also receive the option of getting support to integrate their new facilitation skills into a new program of their own by having the option of the six hour Group Program Design Virtual Intensive. This optional program is delivered by phone several weeks after the Facilitation Intensive program, and provides the opportunity for participants to apply their new learning. Participants receive special pricing for this program (regularly $175 US).

The Virtual Facilitation Essentials or Facilitation Skills Intensive can be brought onsite for your group or association (minimum group size 8). Contact us to discuss how we can bring this program to you.
